Away From Keyboard; a player is temporarily not present.
Aggro
Attracting the attention of enemies, usually AI-controlled.
Aimbot
A cheat that automatically aims at targets.
AOE
Area of Effect; abilities that affect multiple targets in an area.

1Buff
A positive effect on a character or weapon.

3Camping
Staying in one spot to ambush enemies.
Clutch
Winning a difficult situation, often alone against many.
Cool down
Waiting period before an ability can be used again.

2DPS
Damage Per Second; also used for characters who deal high damage.
Drop
Items or loot that fall from enemies or are found in-game.

1Easter Egg
Hidden feature or reference in a game.

5Farming
Repeatedly killing enemies or gathering resources for rewards.
Feeding
Intentionally dying repeatedly to give the enemy team an advantage.
Flanking
Attacking the enemy from the side or rear.
FPS
First-Person Shooter or Frames Per Second depending on context.
Frag
To kill another player in a shooter game.

Ambushing and killing an unsuspecting player.
GG
Good Game; used at the end of a match.
Git gud
Phrase meaning 'get good', telling someone to improve.
Glitch
A bug or error in the game software.
Griefing
Intentionally harassing or sabotaging other players.
Grind
Repetitive tasks to gain rewards or level up.

2Headshot
A shot that hits an opponent in the head, typically dealing extra damage.
Hitbox
The area of a character or object that can be hit.

Dodging an attack or ability using quick movements.

Kill/Death ratio; used to measure player performance.
Kiting
Attacking an enemy while staying out of their attack range.

3Lag
Delay between input and reaction due to slow connection.
Leeching
Gaining experience or rewards without actively participating.
Loot
Items obtained from enemies or containers.

Most Effective Tactic Available; current best strategies.
Min-maxing
Optimizing character build or strategies for maximum efficiency.
MMO
Massively Multiplayer Online game.
Modding
Modifying game files to add or change content.

3Nerf
A downgrade or weakening of a character/weapon.
Noob
New or inexperienced player.
NPC
Non-Player Character controlled by the game.

Overpowered; stronger than intended.

Briefly exposing oneself to check an area.
Ping
Latency of a player's connection to the server.
Potting
Using potions or consumables for healing or buffs.
Pulling
Intentionally drawing enemies into combat.
PvE
Player vs Environment; playing against the game world.
PvP
Player vs Player; competing against other players.
Pwned
Dominated or defeated soundly.

Waiting line to join a game or match.
Quickscope
Sniping immediately after aiming down sights.

Unskilled or bad player.

Cosmetic item that changes appearance.

Experienced player using a low-level account.

Stacking
Applying multiple buffs or effects to increase their potency.
Stream Sniping
Watching a live stream of a player to gain an unfair advantage.
Sweat
Try-hard player who puts in extreme effort.

Repeatedly crouching over a defeated player.
Throwing
Intentionally losing a game or match.
Tilted
Mentally frustrated or thrown off game.
Toxic
Negative or rude player behavior.

Whiffing
Missing a shot or ability.
Wiping
Entire team or raid group being defeated.

Experience Points; used for leveling up.

Zone Control
Maintaining control over a specific area of the map.
